The Buffalo Bills’ top utility threat isn't going to let a minor knee injury keep him off the field.
Bills running back C.J. Spiller was absent from practice Wednesday, ailing from a hit he took in Buffalo’s loss to the Bengals last weekend. Spiller was confident about his recovery Wednesday, however, letting everyone know they should expect him on the sideline – and on the field – for the Bills’ Week 5 game against the Eagles.
“It’s a little knee injury,” Spiller told the media. “It’s nothing serious though, nothing to freak out about. I’ll be ready to go Sunday.”
Though he has seen little action thus far this season, Spiller has made the most of his opportunities, rushing for nearly 100 yards on only 13 attempts and averaging 7.2 per carry, a majority of that coming from his success in the Week 2 game against Oakland.
“From all indications from the training staff he’ll be ready to go this weekend,” Bills coach Chan Gailey said Wednesday.
