The Miami Dolphins have given up only three rushing touchdowns this season, which would look really good had the San Francisco 49ers given up at least one all year.
Second-best is still not bad.
Miami’s run defense has been its best-kept secret in 2011, as the Dolphins are only giving up 3.8 yards a carry, which is the sixth-lowest in the league.
They have also surrendered only four rushes of 20 or more yards and haven’t given up a 40-plus-yard run all season.
The Dolphins are one of only nine teams to average less than 20 points a game against.
