Brandon Marshall has said some questionable things in the past, but he was right on Wednesday when addressing the Miami media.
Miami (0-7) had a 17-13 lead early in the fourth quarter last Sunday. On a second-and-8, Miami Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore connected with Marshall on a 30ish-yard pass that got the Dolphins to midfield.
Marshall, however, got called for offensive pass interference on the play, but there wasn't even a hint of pass interference. It was just a standard catch. The Dolphins didn't convert on third down, and they had to punt it away. The Giants scored on the next drive.
“That one hurt us,” Marshall said. “They’re (the refs) not perfect, but in a game like that, in this situation, unless you’re sure, you can’t call that play.
“Not only that play, there was also a third-and-short in the red zone. The guy was all over my back, it was a pass interference and they didn’t call it.”
Marshall then sort of backed down from his comments.
“It sucks when you don’t get those calls, but we had a chance to put them away without those plays," he said. "… At the end of the day it really doesn’t matter. They need to be accountable, just like we are, but we still lost the game.”
