Six-foot-2, 325-pound Vince Wilfork has statistics of a defensive back.
The New England Patriots defensive tackle already had two interceptions, three passes defensed and a force fumble this season. Sunday, he added a touchdown.
Wilfork recovered a fumble in the end zone against the Washington Redskins, as he won the bottom-of-the-pile fight for the pigskin during New England's 34-27 victory.
Wilfork said the Patriots' defensive linemen joke about what they would do if they score, but when the score actually happens, it's just treated like another play.
"We were just talking about it last week, if one of the defensive linemen scored, we were gonna storm the field," Wilfork joked on WEEI's "The Big Show" Monday. "...That didn't happen."
Wilfork has 43 tackles and 2.5 sacks this season.
