If Brady could play D, he'd be Ed Reed or Ray Lewis
BY NICK ST. DENIS
Tom Brady probably prefers being arguably the best quarterback in the NFL and maybe the best in the history of the game.
But if Brady played defense, well, he'd still want to be the best.
"If I could be a defensive player, I'd be (safety) Ed Reed or (linebacker) Ray Lewis," Brady told WEEI in a radio interview Monday. "Between those two guys."
While Lewis will be good to go when the Ravens travel to Foxborough to take on the Patriots in the AFC Championship game, Reed's status is in question. He injured his ankle last week against the Texans, though X-rays reportedly came back negative.
"I'm sure Ed will be there," Brady said. "This game means everything to our seasons. So I'm sure if he has any chance of playing, he's gonna be there."
Brady said his team certainly doesn't need any incentive to be at its best Sunday, considering "(the Ravens) got some of the best players in the history of the NFL at their positions."
"We really got our work cut out for us," Brady added.
Something tells me the Ravens feel the same way.
