Rex Ryan doesn't believe in muzzling his players. Rookies included.
Jets rookie quarterback Greg McElroy voiced his opinion Wednesday on the aura of the Jets' locker room this season. McElroy was very candid during an interview with WZNN-FM, an Alabama radio station.
"It's the first time I've ever been around extremely selfish individuals," McElroy said of the Jets. "I think that's maybe the nature of the NFL. But there were people within our locker room that didn't care whether we won or lost as long as they ... really had a good game individually. And that's the disappointing thing."
McElroy, whose argument certainly carried weight, went on to say the team will become stronger by overcoming adversity, adding that some of the players he was referring to may not be on the roster next season.
He also gave his thoughts on offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer (mostly good) and repeatedly said he liked coach Ryan's confident approach with the team.
