Bills coach Chan Gailey didn't waste any time with the announcement.
During his Monday press conference, Gailey used his opening remarks to tell the media the Bills let go of defensive coordinator George Edwards.
Gailey said Dave Wannstedt, who served as assistant head coach in 2011, will take over to call the defense. Buffalo's defense finished 30th in the league in points allowed.
"I just know Dave has a wealth of experience," Gailey said of Wannstedt, a coach of nearly four decades. "He’s been around good to great defenses before and I think his level of experience will be able to help the players that we have right now to hopefully have better production as we go into next season."
Wannstedt was head coach of the Dolphins for three and a half years before taking over the University of Pittsburgh's program for five years. He joined the Bills in 2011.
