The Buffalo Bills will be a little better off at receiver this coming Sunday than they were at the end of last Sunday.
Stevie Johnson, who exited the Bills' victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars after a touchdown catch with hamstring tightness, said Monday that he'll "be cool for Sunday."
Johnson is getting treatment early this week, and coach Chan Gailey said the earliest he'll practice is Thursday.
It sounded like he’ll be able to go (Sunday),” Gailey said. "... We’ll see how good he can move Thursday and Friday and make a decision.” (photo: Matt Britt, Flickr)
Buffalo will also see fellow receiver Donald Jones return to the field. Jones missed the Jaguars game with calf tightness.
"He’s going to practice Wednesday and unless something major comes up, I would see no reason that he wouldn’t be able to play this weekend," Gailey said.
Ryan Fitzpatrick will certainly be pleased to have his top two receivers on the field together again, though if the Bills are to continue their success from last week, he'll be doing a lot more handing and dumping off to running backs C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson than throwing to his wideouts.
