Two's company. Connolly's fellow offensive lineman Sebastian Vollmer had surgery on his right knee Wednesday. Both procedures were reported Friday.
Unlike Vollmer, Connolly isn't an impending free agent and is all but guaranteed to be at Patriots training camp when the summer rolls around. But like Vollmer, Connolly's job isn't guaranteed.
The veteran interior lineman started 14 of 16 games at guard, a position he moved to from center after veteran Brian Waters decided not to return. After a so-so 2012 campaign, he could find himself in a positional battle in the always-competitive New England summer camp.
