Darrelle Revis is looking for the New York Jets to throw him a bone. He think Mark Sanchez could use one, too.
Questions are aplenty regarding Sanchez's future as a starter for the Jets. There are even more questions regarding Revis's future as a player for the Jets. (photo: Marianne O'Leary, Flickr)
But regardless of whether Revis remains in green, the All-World cornerback thinks his quarterback is plenty capable of bouncing back from the major slump he fell into in 2012 -- as long as the team gives him more to work with.
"Yes, Mark Sanchez can get it done but we have to put the right weapons around him for him to be successful, I think that's always been the thing with Mark," Revis recently said on The Real Rob Report, via the Star-Ledger. "That should be our focus, for Mark Sanchez to put the right guys around him so he can be successful."
Sanchez has had a heap of criticism and blame thrown on him for the Jets' recent struggles, but the fact is, he's only part of the problem.
Revis gave a rundown on all of the holes new Jets general manager John Idzik has to fill if New York is to get back to its 2009 and 2010 form when it came a game away from the Super Bowl with Sanchez calling signals.

"... [Idzik is] trying to clean house to get some great players over there. Get underneath the cap space and get some great guys," Revis said. "That's what we want there. We want guys for Mark Sanchez to throw to, some deep threats, and on defense, we got a couple problems at linebacker we need to fix as well. And on the defensive line.
"... We got the draft coming up, I'm sure we're going to do well in the draft. We're trying to get a defensive end or defensive tackle because we need a pass rusher, so right now it's a rebuilding mode for us. We'll try and get the right pieces to the puzzle for 2013."
For the record, in the three paragraphs I have in quotations, Revis used the terms "we," "us," "our," "we'll" and "we're" 12 times.
