The Miami Dolphins spent a whole bunch of money on a couple new players Tuesday, and something had to give.
After giving former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Dannell Ellerbe a five-year, $35 million contract, Miami released middle linebacker Karlos Dansby, according to Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald.
The Dolphins recovered $3.9 million in cap space by letting go of the 31-year-old Dansby, who tallied a career-high 134 tackles and nine passes defensed in 2012.
According to Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post, Dansby made $27 million since joining the Dolphins in 2010.
