Wilson, Arrington execute Pampers number swap

BY DAN BEGNOCHE

After safety Adrian Wilson's arrival in New England was official, the next bit of business was getting back the No. 24 he's donned for 12 years, by any means necessary.

Wilson went the family angle, offering teammate Kyle Arrington a year's supply of diapers for the number. Arrington joked about the deal but left it at that. Seems like Wilson wasn't completely kidding, though. (Victor Dorantes, Flickr)

A day later, the "Hulk," as he's known by his teammates, tweeted Arrington a picture of himself in front of a stack of Pampers boxes, saying he was about to send them out for the new dad.

Looks like Wilson's persistence paid off. Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com tweeted Friday that the two had officially swapped numbers, with Arrington handing over the jersey for No. 25.

All joking aside, it was a classy move for the 26-year-old Arrington to give up his number to the veteran, particularly after expressing how much it meant to him.

And while the specifics of the deal may have come down to a bit more than a few boxes of diapers, Arrington certainly comes out on top, both in character and in the wealth of knowledge he's likely to receive from Wilson this season. Looks like the only thing left to do now is change his Twitter handle.
