If the Jets get into depth trouble again in 2013, it won't be for a lack of trying.
Gang Green reportedly signed 6-1, 205-pound receiver Ben Obomanu this week. The former seventh-rounder out of Auburn played in 66 games during his five seasons with the Seattle Seahawks.
His numbers don't jump off the charts, though he did have a pretty good stint between 2010 and 2011 when he caught 67 passes for 930 yards and six touchdowns. Thirty-seven of those receptions were for first downs.
In the midst of signing Obomanu, the Jets also worked out receiver Derek Hagan, according to Adam Caplan of TheSidelineView.com. Hagan is a former third-round journeyman out of Miami who has spent time with the Miami Dolphins, New York Giants, Buffalo Bills and Oakland Raiders.
Hagan most recently hauled in 20 catches for 259 yards last season with the Raiders and has tallied 129 receptions for 1,480 yards and six touchdowns in his career.
