Free agent fullback Vonta Leach has spent the past couple of weeks entertaining offers from a number of interested NFL teams.
Among them are believed to be the Baltimore Ravens, his former team, and the New York Giants. But according to Leach's agent, the Miami Dolphins are in the driver's seat to ink the three-time All Pro. (photo: The Brit_2, Flickr)
"I think so. I hope so," Vitolo said when asked if he believes Miami is his client's next landing spot, via Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald. "It’s the right place to be. We’re trying to crunch the numbers.”
Leach was released by the Ravens on June 11 after two seasons with the team. The 10-year veteran was selected to both the All Pro team and the Pro Bowl in each of the last three seasons and has helped his teams rank no lower than 12th in rushing during that time.
Pro Football Focus rated the Leach as their top run-blocking fullback in 2012 for the second consecutive year.
Leach would be a powerful lead-blocking option for projected starting tailback Lamar Miller, and he doubles as an option in the passing game. Dolphins 2012 starting fullback Javorskie Lane would, more than likely, lose his roster spot if Leach signed in Miami.
