Kaepernick on Dolphins hat: 'I'll wear what I want'

BY NICK ST. DENIS

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was recently spotted walking around in public with a Miami Dolphins hat on.

And Friday, after pictures emerged of Kaepernick sporting the cap, the third-year signal-caller apparently (and understandably) took flak from some 49ers fans. Par for the course, right?  (Photo: Mark Runyon | Football Schedule)

Maybe. But instead of letting the likely short-lived uproar roll on by, in thin-skinned and naive fashion, Kaepernick decided to fire back at those questioning him.

"This the hat y'all mad at? I'm goin wear what I want regardless of what you think," Kaepernick wrote on his Instagram account, "all you need to worry about is the fact that I grind for my teammates and the 49ers! I plan on doin this until they won't let me in the building!"

Here's how to rub fans the wrong way: Bother them by doing something they don't like, then tell them you don't care that said thing bothers them.

Dolphins fans are certainly enjoying it, though, especially if they have any friends of the 49ers fan variety.
