Everyone knows Tim Tebow's throwing motion is as ugly as it gets.
But the last thing the New England Patriots' third string quarterback needs is a mediocre college player reminding him about it. (photo: ArcticWhirlwind, Flickr)
LSU signal-caller Zach Mettenberger has been less than spectacular in his non-community college career, but the 22-year-old takes solace in the fact that he doesn't have the attributes of a certain media darling NFLer.
“It’s not like I’m Tim Tebow and have terrible mechanics,” Mettenberger told reporters this week, via Christopher Price of WEEI.
Fair point, maybe. But Tebow -- terrible mechanics aside -- does have a Heisman Trophy, a lot money and even more respect from his professional peers.
Mettenberger has, well, a long way to go. He hasn't exactly been stellar on the field since becoming a Tiger, and before that, he was only known for pleading guilty to sexual battery during his short stint at Georgia.
Regardless, in mid-July, we'll take a good quote.
