No harm, no foul.
Buffalo Bills receiver Stevie Johnson was absent for his team's divisional bout with the New York Jets Sunday due to injury, but things turned out just fine. The Bills chased the Jets out of town thanks to a dominating defensive performance and a few young wideouts stepping up.
Buffalo has a bye this coming weekend, giving Johnson ample time to get back on the field. When the Bills return to action against the Atlanta Falcons in a week and a half, their No. 1 pass-catcher will be back.
"I’ll definitely be suited up," Johnson said Tuesday, via BuffaloBills.com. "I think I’ll be much better than what I was this past week. I’m optimistic about it."
Johnson suffered a groin injury a week and a half ago in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, putting his appearance vs. the Jets in doubt from the very beginning. Buffalo was also without its No. 2 receiver in Robert Woods, who is nursing a leg injury.
Speeders Marquise Goodwin and T.J. Graham, along with Chris Hogan, were more than serviceable in the absence of Johnson and Woods, so Buffalo will be that much more bolstered when everyone is healthy at the same time.
