After peaking as a solid top-15 team earlier this season, the New York Jets' public perception continues to plummet after getting dominated on both sides of the ball by the Miami Dolphins in Week 13. Those Dolphins have (if perhaps only temporarily) created some separation between themselves and most of the pack of medicore teams vying for the AFC's sixth and final playoff seed.
The Buffalo Bills officially fell out of that pack after an overtime loss to the Atlanta Falcons, while the division-leading New England Patriots once again proved their mettle by emerging victorious from a shootout with the Houston Texans, who performed far better than their dead-last spot in the conference standings would suggest.
