The media world rewarded the New England Patriots for their resounding beatdown of the red-hot Baltimore Ravens with a bump in the rankings. The win clinched a fifth straight AFC East title and, combined with another victory this week at home over the Buffalo Bills, would ensure a first-round bye in the playoffs.
Conversely, the Miami Dolphins slid after laying an egg against the Bills, who correspondingly moved up a notch. The New York Jets also improved a little after beating the upstart Cleveland Browns.
