Brian Gaine re-gained some footing pretty quickly, as expected.
The former Miami Dolphins assistant general manager, who parted way with the team after he lost out to new general manager Dennis Hickey for the lead gig, has signed on with a new team.
According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, the Houston Texans have added Gaine to head their pro personnel department.
Hickey reportedly never talked football with Gaine upon his arrival in Miami, as it was always assumed Gaine would be a goner once the Dolphins hired someone to replace the departed Jeff Ireland.
"This will allow Brian to move forward in his professional pursuits and the Dolphins to move forward with our 2014 plan," Hickey said at the time.
