New York Jets general manager John Idzik said earlier this week that he recognizes his team has a need at cornerback.
Friday, he made an effort to help alleviate that need. Sorta.
The Jets announced they signed undrafted free agent defensive back Jeremy Reeves, who sat out all of last season's activity after pectoral surgery in March despite initially planning on entering the NFL in 2013.
Reeves, a 5-7, 170-pound defender out of Iowa, tallied five interceptions, three touchdowns and 202 tackles in three collegiate seasons.
He was projected to go late in last year's draft prior to the injury complications. He'll battle with the likes of Kyle Wilson, Darrin Walls, Ras-I Dowling and Ellis Lankster (and probably a draft pick) for playing time opposite Dee Milliner.
