Patriots' long snapper guy coming back another year

BY NICK ST. DENIS

The New England Patriots had just one restricted free agent to take care of this offseason, and they took care of him.

According to ESPN Boston, the team agreed to terms with long snapper Danny Aiken, who has played in every game the last three seasons, on Friday. He was originally signed as a free agent at the beginning of September of 2011.

Aiken will be back on a one-year deal after making a base salary of $550,000 last season.

It's yet to be disclosed how much he'll make in 2014, though it's assumed to be below even the lowest tender of $1.43 million, which was the Patriots' only other option besides just letting him go as an unrestricted free agent.

The 25-year-old out of Virginia made five special teams tackles last season.
