Dan Marino's tenure with CBS Sports' Sunday pregame show came to an end earlier this year, leaving the former Miami Dolphins Hall of Fame quarterback without a job (aside from his regular charity work, of course).
It may be his old employer that puts him back on the clock, albeit an a capacity yet to be determined.
According to Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross said recently that he plans to talk to the 52-year-old Marino about a possible job within the team.
But what would that position be? "No idea," Ross said.
A potential reunion between Marino and the Dolphins has been a topic of discussion among fans and the media since mid-February, and the fact that Ross is reaching out is no surprise. It will, however, be interesting to see what comes of it, as Marino has no front office experience.
Marino was a nine-time Pro Bowler, led the Dolphins to the playoffs in 10 of 17 seasons and is widely considered the greatest player in the history of the franchise.
