RPT: Jets inquired with Eagles about Jackson

BY NICK ST. DENIS

A Philadelphia Eagles reunion is in the works in Florham Park this week. At least that's what it feels like.

Quarterback Michael Vick will be visiting the New York Jets' premises Friday to talk with the team about possibly joining forces. One would assume offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, who coached Vick in Philly, will have a voice in that discussion.

And apparently another one of Vick and Mornhinweg's old co-workers is on Gang Green's radar, too.

According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Jets have inquired about trading for Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson. The Eagles claim they're not shopping Jackson, though they're fielding calls. Six of one, half dozen of the other.

Jackson, who still has three years left on his current contract, is close friends with Vick.

Despite signing Eric Decker last week, the Jets are still very much in need of help at wideout. Jackson would be the true perimeter burner they're in the market for, though he's one of the league's bigger divas.
