Dante Scarnecchia left a major footprint on the New England Patriots' organization. And in the last few years, that footprint was pretty expensive.
The recently retired and highly regarded offensive line coach sat down with New England fans last Thursday night during a Patriots Hall of Fame event to discuss whatever was on his mind and whatever they wanted to know.
As documented by Karen Guregian of The Boston Herald, Scarnecchia, who spent 30 years with the Patriots, touched on plethora of topics, ranging from his thoughts on the team's drafting Matt Light in 2001 to his every day activities leading up to the day he called it a career.
Scarnecchia also made sure to give quarterback Tom Brady credit for keeping everyone's feet warm.
"I do know the last two or three years, he’s bought everyone on the team, everyone from trainers, equipment people, he just got everyone Uggs," Scarnecchia said. "I got three pairs of Uggs. I’m bummed out I’m not going to get a pair this year 'cuz I love those things."
In all seriousness, Brady will surely miss Scarnecchia, too. The veteran assistant coach was responsible for getting the absolute most of Brady's protectors, a task he completed in exceptional fashion year in, year out.
Now, that responsibility is on the shoulders of Dave DeGuglielmo, who has some big Uggs to fill.
