The New York Jets have seen plenty of change this offseason.
Most of that change has come on the offensive side of the ball, with the quarterback-running back-receiver tandem of Michael Vick-Chris Johnson-Eric Decker headlining the incoming class, in addition to a more recent slew of pass-catchers via last week's draft.
But even those on the defensive side of the ball can feel the difference. At least as much difference as they can feel in May.
"I think that guys have a different vibe and a different feeling going into this season," Coples said this week, via NJ.com. "Expectations are high, but we got a lot more firepower, we had a lot of additions in free agency, we had the 12 picks in the draft, there's a lot of things going great for us.
"There's a lot of momentum going into camp."
Coples, who is part of one of the league's best defensive fronts, echoed the sentiment of one of his offensive counterparts, guard Willie Colon. Colon is entering his second season with a Gang Green unit that finished 8-8 last season--a campaign in which many think the team overachieved.
"It's a real humble environment," Colon said. "Just the locker room's a way different locker from what I saw last year. [Guys] are mingling, hanging with each other, and I think we're forming something good."
