After five underwhelming years in professional football, former Buffalo Bills first round pick Aaron Maybin is hanging up the cleats.
The Canadian Football League's Toronto Argonauts announced Maybin's retirement Tuesday.
The 26-year-old linebacker/defensive end played in just two games with the Argonauts after getting dropped by the Cincinnati Bengals prior to the 2013 season.
Maybin enjoyed the best year of his career in 2011 -- a six-sack, four forced-fumbles campaign with the New York Jets -- but he was cut midway through the 2012 season after tallying just one tackle through eight games.
He signed with the Jets prior to the 2011 season after failing to record a sack in his first two seasons with the Bills. The former Penn State standout's last NFL game was with Gang Green in October of 2012.
