Hickey on offensive line: 'It certainly looks different'

BY SCOTT BAINES

As the only returning starter on the Miami Dophins' offensive line from a year ago, center Mike Pouncey has a lot of new names to learn.

Two of the Dolphins' top three selections in the 2014 draft were used on offensive linemen--first-rounder Ja’Wuan James and third-rounder Billy Turner--as the team rounded out its rebuilt offensive front. James and Turner are joined by free agent signings Branden Albert, Shelley Smith and Jason Fox.

It's early, but so far, new general manager Dennis Hickey likes what he sees from the group.

"It certainly looks different," Hickey said this weekend, via MiamiDolphins.com. "It’s been exciting to see those guys interact and Branden Albert really taking a leadership role and bringing some of the young rookies under his wing, so to speak, and seeing them interact."

James is the favorite for the Week 1 right tackle gig, and Turner will push for a starting job next to James at guard.

"They’re both talented players and one of the things that we liked about both of them, they’re really smart and really tough," Hickey said. "Those are the traits that you’re looking for, for guys to be able to transition quickly."
