Dolphins hosting handful of O-linemen this week

BY SEAN DONOVAN

The free agent options available to temporarily replace injured Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey are fairly limited.

But, facing the prospect of fielding a woefully inexperienced interior offensive line for the first few weeks of the regular season, the team is hosting a trio of unsigned linemen for workouts this week.

According to The Miami Herald's Barry Jackson, veterans Daryn Colledge, Steve Vallos and former Dolphin Samson Satele are scheduled to work out for Miami on Monday.

From 2006 to 2010, Colledge was a starting left guard for Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin when he was the offensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers. He was released by the Arizona Cardinals in March.

Vallos has appeared in 59 career games for five teams since 2008, primarily as a backup. He made a relief appearance in this past Super Bowl for his most recent team, the Denver Broncos.

Satele was a 2007 second round pick by the Dolphins. He was released by the team after the 2008 season, but improved his play after landing in Oakland. He most recently played for the Indianapolis Colts.

Satele offers by far the most center experience of the bunch, but Miami appears to be open to moving a current player to the center spot and signing a guard or tackle. Guard Nate Garner played well in relief when Pouncey missed two games with a case of food poisoning last season.
