The New York Jets announced Tuesday they have signed veteran offensive lineman Bruce Campbell and placed linebacker Jermaine Cunningham on Injured Reserve.
The 6-7, 314-pound Campbell was selected by Oakland in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2010 draft out of Maryland.
Campbell, 26, played 14 games for the Raiders in 2010-11 before being traded to Carolina in 2012. He saw action in five games for the Panthers in 2012 but was waived/injured a year ago.
The 6-3, 255-pound Cunningham, who started his NFL career as the rival New England Patriots' second-round pick in 2010, came to the Jets from the San Francisco 49ers last season and played in two games. He injured his Achilles tendon late in the first half of the Green & White scrimmage Saturday night.
"That's obviously bad news there for us," coach Rex Ryan said Monday, via NewYorkJets.com. "The young man was really coming on. We're certainly going to miss him."
