Three's a charm for Buffalo Bills linebacker Preston Brown.
Brown was taken in the third round of the 2014 draft to supplement a pretty deep stable of linebackers in Western New York.
The Louisville product, however, has made the rounds in his rookie season, getting experience at all three linebacker positions thanks to his summer work with the second team at middle linebacker and his filling in for the suspended Nigel Bradham (Week 1) and injured Keith Rivers (Week 2) in the regular season.
“It means a lot, that they have the faith to put me at all three linebacker positions and go out there and try to make an impact,” he said, via BuffaloBills.com. “It makes me study harder. I have to really focus in on the offense and learn as much as possible.
"I don’t ever know where I’m going to be each week, so I have to make sure I study all three positions.”
Brown has played every defensive snap so far this year and has tallied 20 tackles and a fumble recovery in two games.
“I thought I’d just be on special teams. Maybe I’d work my way in on situational defenses, goal line, something like that," Brown said. "I never knew I’d be playing so much. I’m just trying to take it in stride and learn as much as possible.”
