Aqib Talib has been confident in Patriots all along

BY NICK ST. DENIS

Aqib Talib will travel to Foxborough Sunday to check on his former team, though he knows they're doing just fine.

The Denver Broncos cornerback is slated for a matchup against the New England Patriots, who let him walk the their AFC rival last offseason.

New England got off to a "shaky" start by its own standards, losing the opener and sitting at 2-2 after an unimpressive win over the Oakland Raiders and a blowout loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

However, the Patriots have since reeled off four straight wins and are coming off a rout of the Chicago Bears. Talib knew they were fine all along and apparently expects them to cruise to an AFC East title.

"I told you. You all were panicking. I told you they’ll be alright," he said this week, via ESPN Boston. "They’ll be fine. They’ll be in the playoffs. They’ll win the division. No surprise."

Talib's Broncos aren't looking too bad, either. Denver sits at 6-1 with four consecutive wins of its own. Talib has two interceptions on the season--one for a touchdown--to go with 10 passes defensed and 28 tackles.

This week, he's looking forward to another classic Tom Brady-Peyton Manning shootout.

"Always. I grew up watching it. I grew up catching it on TV any time I could," he said. "Got to live in it a couple times. And then on Sunday, I get a chance to see it again. So it’s definitely always a good matchup with those two guys. You definitely get your money’s worth."
