The Miami Dolphins announced Tuesday they have signed safety Jordan Kovacs.
The move comes a day after depth safety and special-teamer Michael Thomas was placed on injured reserve.
Kovacs, a 5-10, 210-pounder, comes to the Dolphins from the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad, which he joined this time last month.
Kovacs was with Miami during training camp prior to being released at the end of August. He saw action in nine games for the Dolphins last year as a rookie free agent.
“It's a crazy business, and I think I kind of understood that last year,” Kovacs said, via MiamiDolphins.com. “But once you actually go through the transition, the first month I was just at home, waiting for that call.
"Then I finally got the call from Philly to go play on the practice squad, and now to bounce back here after a month is crazy. I wouldn’t want it any other way. It’s a journey, and it’s a good one.”
