The AFC East is chock full of stellar defensive fronts, and that's been a benefit for the New England Patriots, at least according to one assistant coach.
Patriots offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo told CSNNE this week that the stiff competition in the trenches throughout the division has helped prepare his team for its Super Bowl bout with the staunch Seattle Seahawks.
“Everybody knocks the AFC East but I think we have a really good group of defensive fronts (in the division).” He said. “Miami’s super-fast with some really good inside guys as well. That’s a good defensive front-four.
"And then the Jets, obviously, look at those interior guys and then Buffalo is a combination of both. They’re quick on the outside and stout on the inside. I think our preparation in the AFC East gives us a significant step.”
