Rex Ryan told CBS Sports last month that he would "explore every avenue" before landing on the Buffalo Bills' starting quarterback. He proved it this week, bringing in journeyman Josh McCowan for a visit.
The 12-year veteran met with Ryan and team officials, according to buffalobills.com, just days after being released from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If brought on, Buffalo would be the 36-year-old's sixth team since breaking into the league in 2002.
Currently, the Bills' roster consists only of former starter E.J. Manuel -- replaced by vet Kyle Orton last season after four games -- and 24-year-old Jeff Tuel, who played in two games in 2013 when Manuel was sidelined with a knee injury.
