Well, things have officially gotten interesting in the AFC East.
Only weeks removed from a Super Bowl victory with the New England Patriots, star cornerback Darrell Revis is heading back to the New York Jets, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal, according to Manish Mehta of the Daily News, is worth $70 million over five years, with $39 million of that deal guaranteed.
Revis' agent tweeted this photo of the defensive back just minutes after the news broke, saying, "Finally got it done!!! @Revis24 is coming home!!! #RevisIsland #NYJets."
After New England declined to pick up the 29-year-old's 2015 option, it seemed to be a two-team battle to sign the six-time Pro Bowler, as the Patriots worked to renegotiate. A last-ditch effort by Rex Ryan and the Buffalo Bills was unsuccessful as well, who are tight on cap space after their big deal for running back LeSean McCoy.
