The Miami Dolphins were awarded offensive lineman Donald Hawkins, formerly of the Dallas Cowboys, off of waivers Monday, letting go of offensive lineman Mark Asper to make room on the roster.
The 6-4, 310-pound Hawkins appeared in one game for the Cowboys last year. Prior to joining Dallas, he spent 2014 offseason stints with the Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles. He originally signed with Philadelphia as an undrafted college free agent last May.
Hawkins played collegiately at Texas, appearing in 25 games with 24 starts. Before Texas, he spent two years at Northwest Community College.
