Jets let go of injured tight end Zach Sudfeld

Zach Sudfeld's stint with the New York Jets is over.

Gang Green announced Monday they waived injured tight end, who suffered a torn ACL in minicamp last week. Sudfeld, who played in 27 games over the last two seasons with the Jets, came to New York in 2013 after being let go by the rival Patriots.

He snagged 10 receptions for 148 yards with the Jets but made his biggest impact on special teams, leading the team with 20 kick-coverage tackles in 2014, according to the team's website.

Upon dropping Sudfeld, New York brought in tight end Steven Maneri, who spent time with the Patriots, Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers since entering the league as an underrated free agent in 2010.

Maneri played collegiate ball at Temple.
