The New York Jets have signed free agent wide receiver Austin Hill, the team announced Tuesday. In a corresponding move, Gang Green released kicker Andrew Furney.
Standing at 6-3, 212-ponds, Hill was signed in May by the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Arizona. He was released later that month.
In 37 games at Arizona, Hill snagged 151 receptions for 2,310 yards and 17 touchdowns. In 2012--his best season--he hauled in 81 catches for 1,364 yards and 11 scores before sitting out 2013 with an injury.
Furney signed with the Jets last offseason as an undrafted free agent out of Washington State and inked a reserve/future contract to return to the team at the end of last year.
