The New England Patriots announced Wednesday they have signed free agent cornerback Tarell Brown. Terms of the contract weren't disclosed, except for the fact that they've also ready been reported elsewhere for some time now: a one-year, $1.5 million deal.
The 30-year-old, eight-year veteran has played in 114 games with 61 starts, amassing 295 tackles, 11 interceptions (with one returned for a score), 59 passes defensed and two fumble recoveries in that span. He has also started in eight playoff games, recording 32 tackles, two picks, seven passes defensed, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
As an Oakland raider last season, Brown started 14 games, finishing with 55 total tackles and four passes defensed.
The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder, originally entered the NFL as a fifth-rounder with the San Francisco 49ers out of Texas.
