Fred Jackson's entire career has been based on resilience. At 34 years old, the veteran Buffalo Bills running back is continuing the trend.
“I still have a lot to prove and that’s how I approach the game,” Jackson said after helping his team beat up the Pittsburgh Steelers in preseason action Saturday, via The Buffalo News. “Just continue to prove yourself and today was a good step in the right direction.”
Jackson broke off a 41-yard touchdown run in the third exhibition contest, keeping his legs warm in case he's tabbed the Week 1 starter. LeSean McCoy is still nursing a hamstring ailment.
“I always prepare as the starter,” Jackson, a 10-year NFLer and 12-year pro, said. “Shady’s going to work to get himself back out there on the field, but I think if you don’t prepare to be the starter something’s wrong with you.”
