He's back, and likely at a bargain.
The Buffalo Bills re-signed veteran quarterback Matt Cassell Tuesday, side-stepping the $4 million salary he was owed and restoring the QB depth chart to its preseason status.
The move will likely not affect the team's current decision to start Tyrod Taylor this weekend against Indianapolis, but it could mean that Cassell leapfrogs EJ Manuel and once again becomes the team's emergency plan if Taylor flops.
In a corresponding move, the team waived rookie tight end Nick O'Leary, who earned some praise from coach Rex Ryan a couple weeks ago, prior to the team's final roster cuts.
