The New York Jets freed up a little bit of salary cap room with a minor contract move.
According to ESPN.com's Field Yates, the Jets have converted $1.78 million of kicker Nick Folk's $2.5 million base salary into a signing bonus, creating $1,186,667 in cap space for 2015.
"They had to do something. They were right up against the cap," added Brian Costello of the NY Post. "This gives them some breathing room."
